One of your greatest dreams in life as a student is to be able to study abroad, meet people and explore the world. Opportunity came and you were informed that you have the option to continue to study abroad.  This can be a major decision and every aspect must be taken seriously. One of the most important aspects of studying abroad is choosing your destination. Below are some of the common mistakes which you should avoid committing when you are in the process of choosing where you will go.

Not considering the budget.  You should research and choose a destination which you can afford the cost of living. Apart from the regular expenses, there would be additional expenses which will be included in your budget.  You should learn to manage your budget and to spend wisely. There are destinations that are not that expensive, but are known for historical attractions, safety and friendly people.

Not focusing on the destination.  As you get excited, you may forget that your main goal for traveling is studying instead of enjoying. Pleasure should not be your main priority.  That should only be your second goal. Your colleagues may have other plans like visiting tourist attractions.  Always think about your goal above anything else.  Think of the destination which will help you achieve your aims.

 Not paying attention to your safety. Students can be one of the main targets of pickpockets and  criminals.  Have a research about your destination.  You should know if the country is constantly experiencing terrorism or any type of outbreak.  You should take into consideration the stability of the country, politically, financially and economically.

Not following your own heart's desire.  You may tend to choose a certain destination or course, just because your friend or special someone chose it.  Learn to decide for your own and take a stand for your own decision. Spread your own wings and learning will be easier.
